Many of you know that I founded a Christian conference for teen girls last November. What you do not know is that I have been in continuous prayer for this conference to go to new places with my ministry partner Debbie for eight months now. Waiting for the Polished Conference to come to fruition has been one of the hardest things because I can see the vision in my head of thousands upon thousands of girls being impacted and eternally changed for Christ’s sake through this event, but I am like a David, a small player in the game of life, but on an extraordinary path with the one who has already won the game!
This week Polished has finally seen the word “wait” turn into the word “ready.” I am thrilled to announce that the conference is coming to Asheville, NC this September, Hickory, NC this November, and another location in the winter TBA soon! The doors God has opened have been clear and not by chance. I do not believe in coincidences. My Sovereign Lord has perfectly begun placing the puzzle pieces together for His will to be done and this conference to help accomplish that.
Right off the bat, I would like for you to hold me accountable. This conference is the Lord’s and not mine. If I ever appear to value it above Him, call me out on it privately. This is merely a platform being used for the greater purpose of salvation! I am going to be excited about this and sharing it and encouraging young women and moms everywhere to become polished women of the Lord!
As this begins to launch on a larger scale, I wanted to answer a few questions that you may have.
1: What is the Polished Conference? A conference designed exclusively for young women grades 7-12 that examines beauty, fashion, trials, and purpose from a Biblical perspective.
2: Can parents come? We welcome parents to attend the entire event! We have a Mom’s Session where parents hear from different experts in raising teens to discuss and answer questions regarding current issues they are facing.
3: What topics will be covered at the Polished Conference?
All topics are Biblically based and include:
The Polished Young Woman: (Inner Beauty)
A Perfect Match: (Friendships and Dating)
Refining Fire (Trials and Adversity)
A Divine Setup: (Talents & Calling)
Hair: Sue Warnes (Hairstylist for the Hunger Games, Captain America 3, & Allegiant), Fashion Show, and Athletics (Professional Athlete)
