I Have a Dreams… Now What?

For the longest time I thought that being a Christian Recording Artist was a selfish desire. I fought the thoughts and the longings to move forward with it because I was under the impression that it would be all about me since I would be in front of people. But, then I thought… what about Moses? Joshua? Paul? Esther? Many times God used people in scripture and placed them in front of others. They were not better, they were not perfect, but they were chosen. The Lord selected them and placed them where He wanted them and they glorified Him. As I reflected, I began to realize, it was more selfish not to use the gift that the Lord gave me for His glory than to let it sit idle in my life.

Dowtown NashvilleWhat are you made for? What is your sweet spot (where passion meets skills)? If you do not have one, I encourage you to pray and ask the Lord what He wants you to do. Maybe you have never asked Him, maybe you are ignoring His voice, or maybe He has not revealed it to you yet. In that case, focus on being faithful to Jesus today and every day that follows will lead you to where He ultimately wants you.

We are the body of Christ. Our callings will look different. We are businessmen, full-time homemakers, hair dressers, taxi drivers, pastors, mailmen, and more!  1 Corinthians 12:20-21 says, “As it is, there are many parts, but one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you!'” We need to support each other, not envy the callings of our brothers and sisters. We need to pray for each other, there can never be enough of that! We need to figure out where God wants us and obey Him.

Tonight, I want you to know that the Lord has a unique design for you. He loves you and created you to bring Him glory. Figure out how you can point others to Him and know that there is nothing you can do to make God love you more or less. He is perfect love! However, we can show how much we love Him by serving Him whole-heartedly and sharing His love with others through our dreams. Thank you to the Dream-giver for not only loving us and saving us, but for using us!
