Many of you might be thinking, “where is this girl? I have not heard from her in a week?!?” To that, I want to say that I am truly sorry. I hate being off of the radar because there are so many valuable lessons that I have been learning and I desire to share these with you. This week has been my last week of college ever! No more homework, no more tests (except for finals), and no more classrooms. It is awfully weird leaving a place that has become my second home, Liberty University. When I arrived here four years ago, I had no idea that the time would go by this fast. Everyone always said that it would, but it was hard to believe that in the moment.
The end of a chapter is bitter-sweet. I am so sad that I have to say good-bye to this season with my best friends, but I am also so excited about the possibilities of what God has next. He is so faithful and is planning out every step that we take. Proverbs 16:9 says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” If there is one thing that I have learned at the end of this chapter of schooling, it is that I can try to plan and set up my life how I think it is supposed to be, but ultimately, God directs my steps. I am not saying that I do not make choices, but as my eyes are fixed on Jesus, His will is done no matter what. The beautiful part is that His ways are higher and far better than my ways!
I want to encourage you today with the concept of trust. There are so many things to worry about nowadays. When the thoughts come our way, it is what we do with them that makes the difference. I am not an expert at this by any means, but I do know that giving fears and anxieties to the Prince of Peace is the best antidote. New chapters are going to come full of new experiences. It is ok and normal to be afraid and unsure of the unknown, but we can have a continual peace on the journey when we know who is walking ahead of us and with us the entire time. My best advice is to live in today. Right now. This moment is the only moment that you have, so live life to the fullest, love Jesus and love people. If we do what we are supposed to do today, we will be ready for the tomorrow we were so worried about.
