Songwriting in Nashville

Michael Boggs

God has blessed me with some amazing opportunities this year. This month, I was able to go to Nashville, Tennessee to co-write with Michael Boggs for my next project. We had two amazing sessions and ended up with not one, not two, but three songs!

If there is one thing that I took away from the week, it was that God cares about the details. Not only was I able to write with a chart topping writer, my sister Annie was able to go with me. Annie is about to leave next week for an eleven month mission trip with the world race. You can follow her trip at

The Lord, also provided us with a place to stay while we were there. The family was so amazing and they have become a second family to us! While we were there we visited downtown Franklin, the stores were all closed at 6:00pm. If you are thinking of shopping there, go during the daytime. 🙂 We loved the beautiful town lit up for the Christmas season. I had the privilege of seeing Cody Norris, my producer for Deep Within. It was wonderful catching up and seeing him again. They recently were writing for Passion 2015! Another wonderful Divine appointment was that my mentor and friend, Mike Harland gave Annie and me a personal tour of the Lifeway Headquarters in downtown Nashville. It was an incredible experience being able to see how such a large and encouraging company started in a small room with a man that was obedient. We were able to see all of the city from his office!

After having a successful co-write and a wonderful visit, I returned home to North Carolina dreaming again. 2015 is just around the corner and although 2014 has come with ups and downs, I know that what God has ahead is good. I will be graduating from Liberty University in May and continuing with my artistry, worship leading, and Polished Conference ministry. I have been reading through Beth Moore’s “Praying God’s Word” and have been in the chapter on unbelief. She explains that we can have unbelief but not even know it. We might believe IN God, but do we BELIEVE God? Her words are true of me and I have seen the word “believe” and heard it multiple times this week! My word for 2015 is believe! I am believing that God is going to fulfill His promises and always be with me as I follow Him into a new season and move forward with this next EP, geared towards the young women that I am praying to reach.
